SIBYLLE BURLA

Anything can be the material for artistic work. Sibylle Burla takes her own works as material for new works. Her five exhibited collages of oil pastels on tissue paper were created by skimming, cutting and reshaping old works. Her approach points to the unfinished and processual nature of art. The artwork itself – an examplification of a closed object – is always process and relationship: process in thought and relationship to material, condition and viewer.
